¡Empezamos esta semana con emoción! Uno de los eventos de moda más esperados del año ya se está llevando a cabo: la New York Fashion Week, con Custo Barcelona, Carolina Herrera, Phillip Lim, Tommy Hilfiger y muchísimos más, presentando propuestas para Otoño 2013-2014.

¿Pero qué es lo que pasa fuera de las pasarelas? Tal parece que el color rosa está nominado esta temporada como una de las tendencias importantes en el street wear look.

We start this week with excitement! One of the most anticipated fashion events of the year is already in its way: the New York Fashion Week, has begun with Custo Barcelona, Carolina Herrera, Phillip Lim, Tommy Hilfiger and many more, with proposals for Fall 2013-2014.

CHIC GONE GRUNGE

 

Tartan is a type of fabric of Scottish origin; the colors were used to represent the clan to which they belonged. It was a long strip of cloth that men wore around the body, holding the remaining over the shoulder with a brooch set. Tartan placement was considered an art that consisted in folding and placing perfectly the fabric.

Nowadays we can remember the grunge hit from the 90s in a very stylized way, we shall say it has become as one of the major trends of this Fall Winter 13/14 Season.

El tartán es un textil de origen escocés; los colores se utilizaban para representar el clan al que pertenecían. Consistía en una larga tira de tela que los hombres usaban alrededor del cuerpo, manteniendo el resto que quedaba por encima del hombro con un broche como conjunto. La colocación de tartán se consideraba un arte que trataba en el plegado y posicionamiento perfecto de la tela.

Hoy en día podemos recordar el éxito del grunge de los años 90 de una forma muy estilizada y hemos de decir que se ha convertido en una de las principales tendencias de esta temporada Otoño Invierno 13/14.

One of the main trends we could notice on the runways of the Fall Winter 2013-2014 season is the return of the dark blue, or navy blue. Besides being a color which could flatter any person, it is elegant, ultra-modern, it’s a classic. According to color psychology, blue inspires peace, order and confidence.

Uno de los principales trends que pudimos notar en las pasarelas de la temporada Fall Winter 2013-2014, es el regreso del azul oscuro, o navy blue. Además de ser un color que puede favorecer a cualquier persona, es elegante, ultra-moderno, un clásico. Según la psicología del color, el azul inspira paz, orden y confianza.

This color was named after having the first time been used by the British Royal Navy in 1748, and consequently, it was used by all the navies in the world.

It was not until the 19th century when the civilian population added this color into their closets. Currently, the Navy uniform has changed to black due to the confusion with similitude of both dark colors.

Este color obtuvo su nombre por primera vez al haber sido portado por la British Royal Navy en 1748; consecuentemente fue usado por todos los navíos del mundo. No fue sino hasta el siglo XIX que la población civil lo agregó en sus armarios. 

Actualmente, los uniformes de los navíos han cambiado al negro debido a las confusiones con las similitudes de ambos colores oscuros.
